On July 14, 2021, Senior Counsel Ian Vandewalker submitted a comment to the Michigan State Bureau of Elections regarding disclosure of the sources of funding for ballot question elections. The comment articulated the clear constitutionality of donor disclosure in the campaign finance context, and its special importance for ballot questions, where information about donor identities can inform voters about the significance of proposals on the ballot.
