In July, the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law and Emery Celli Brinckerhoff & Abady LLP filed suit to close New York State’s infamous “LLC Loophole,” which allows mega-donors to inject millions of dollars into state elections while circumventing contribution limits and disclosure requirements. The case offers the potential of closing one of New York’s most egregious avenues for corruption of elected officials.
