The Brennan Center submitted a comment urging the Office of Science and Technology Policy to institute strong and broadly applicable standards to protect scientific integrity in the federal government.

Publicado: Julio 28, 2021

On July 28, 2021 the Brennan Center filed a comment with the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) concerning scientific integrity policies in the federal government. Scientific integrity policies are a critical tool to safeguard against political interference and ensure that expertise plays a role in the policymaking process. Building off the recommendations of its bipartisan National Task Force on Rule of Law & Democracy, the Brennan Center recommended that scientific integrity policies be broadly applicable, include procedures for evaluating and presenting research and data and a presumption that research and data be publicly disclosed, and have effective enforcement and accountability mechanisms.
