Mira Ortegon

Research & Program Associate, Democracy

Mira Ortegon was a research and program associate in the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program, where she focused on federal democracy reform. Before joining the center, Ortegon worked as a paralegal in the antitrust division of the Department of Justice, supporting big tech investigations and litigation in the Technology and Digital Platforms Section.

Ortegon graduated from Brown University with a BA in public policy. In her time at Brown, she did research on democracy and civics education, worked for a start-up serving Medicaid enrollees in Providence, wrote investigative journalism pieces for the Brown Political Review, and served as the president of the Brown Storytellers Club. She previously interned with Beyond Legal Aid, Appalachia Service Project, and Dan McCready’s congressional campaign.
