Mira Ortegon

Research & Program Associate, Democracy

Mira Ortegon is a Research and Program Associate in the Democracy program, where she focuses on federal democracy reform. Before joining the Brennan Center, Mira worked as a paralegal in the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice, supporting Big Tech investigations and litigation in the Technology & Digital Platforms section.

Mira graduated from Brown University in 2020 with a B.A. in Public Policy. In her time at Brown, Mira did research on democracy and civics education, worked for a start-up serving Medicaid enrollees in Providence, wrote investigative journalism for the Brown Political Review, and served as the president of the Brown Storytellers club. She previously interned with Beyond Legal Aid, Appalachia Service Project, and Dan McCready’s campaign for Congress.
