Amos Toh is a senior counsel in the Brennan Center's Liberty and National Security Program. He was previously the senior researcher on artificial intelligence and human rights at Human Rights Watch, where he led investigations into the use of AI to degrade public services and exploit workers. His research and commentary have been featured in outlets such as NPR, Associated Press, Wired, the Guardian, and Forbes. From 2015 to 2019, he served as legal advisor to the United Nations special rapporteur on the right to freedom of opinion and expression.
Toh is a graduate of NYU School of Law and the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law.
