Published: November 6, 1985

On Thursday, November 6, 2008, a coalition of more than 20 organizations and individual contributors released a set of key criminal justice issues and policy recommendations for the next administration. As part of this coalition, the Brennan Center for Justice was instrumental in drafting and coordinating the sections entitled “Public Defense Reforms” and "Extend Federal Voting Rights to People Released from Prison." The complete report identifies 43 criminal justice priorities in 15 issue areas and makes recommendations for both Congressional and Executive action. The Brennan Center is pleased to be a part of this brain trust of advocates, singularly focused on providing a roadmap for criminal justice reform to the new administration.
