Arlyss Herzig is a research analyst in the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program, where she focuses on voting rights and representation. Prior to joining the Brennan Center, Herzig worked as a data analyst at the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, where she analyzed and created redistricting plans for the 2020 redistricting cycle. These maps were adapted to become part of the enacted New York State congressional district plan. She also interned at the American Civil Liberties Union on the legal analytics team, at Legal Services Corporation in the Office of Data Governance and Analysis, and at Massachusetts Voter Table, spearheading their redistricting effort.
Herzig graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University with a BA in international relations and science, technology, and society; a certificate in spatial data analytics; and an MS in data analytics.
