Research and Program Associate, Democracy

Chris Leaverton was a Research and Program Associate in the Democracy Program, where he focused on redistricting. Prior to joining the Brennan Center, Chris worked at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, the country’s largest civil rights coalition. At The Leadership Conference, Chris worked in policy and communications, largely focusing on the 2020 Census. He has also interned at SKDKnickerbocker, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, and the office of Senator Ed Markey. Chris graduated with honors from Tufts University with a BA in international relations and history in 2019; his research there centered around the Cold War and colonialism. While at Tufts, Chris was active in student government and served as the treasurer of the undergraduate student body.
