On May 16, 2023, Pennsylvania will hold a primary election to fill one vacant seat on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The vacancy was created following the death of Justice Max Baer in September 2022. Pennsylvania Superior Court Judges Deborah Kunselman and Daniel McCaffery are competing in the Democratic primary. Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court Judge Patricia McCullough and Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge Carolyn Tornetta Carluccio are competing in the Republican primary. The winners of each primary election will compete in a general election on November 7, 2023. The winner of the general election will serve a 10-year term.
