State of California v. Trump
On May 20, 2025, the Brennan Center for Justice filed an amicus brief in State of California et al., v. Trump, in support of plaintiffs’ motion for a preliminary injunction and opposing the government’s motion to transfer the case to the United States Court of International Trade on the grounds that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act does not authorize the president to impose tariffs.
