Derek Tisler is counsel and manager in the Brennan Center’s Elections and Government Program, where he works on election administration and security. He is the author of several recent Brennan Center reports, including A State Agenda for Election Security and Resiliency (2025), and his work has been featured in Foreign Affairs, Slate, and NPR, among other national and local media outlets.
Tisler has a BA in economics from Michigan State University and a JD from the University of Chicago Law School, where he served as editor in chief of The University of Chicago Legal Forum.
