Alex Cohen is a Research and Program Associate for the Fellows Program, where he supports work on constitutional amendments and constitutional reform movements. Prior to joining the Brennan Center in October 2018, Alex interned at the Common Cause National Office and the Progressive Policy Institute in Washington, D.C. Since August 2016, he has also been writing and illustrating the popular webcomic, “Tiny Snek Comics,” reaching millions of people each month on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Alex graduated summa cum laude from Occidental College in May 2018 with a B.A. in Politics and Economics, and a minor in History. He received the Larry Caldwell Outstanding Senior Award in the Politics Department and the Bennett W. Schwartz Award for Outstanding Senior in the Economics Department, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Alex’s honors Politics thesis examined how the rhetoric of American Civil Religion has been employed by the president of the United States to construct American identity and race at key historical points.
