Nevada has taken multiple steps to modernize its voter registration infrastructure, including enacting automatic voter registration, Election Day registration, pre-registration for 17-year-olds, and online voter registration.

VRM in the States: Nevada

In 2018, Nevada voters overwhelmingly approved automatic voter registration. Before this, however, the state already took multiple steps to upgrade its voter registration infrastructure. 

Prior Advances in Voter Registration Modernization

Online Voter Registration: Nevada passed a bill allowing online voter registration in 2011 and implemented the current system in 2012.

Election Day Registration: Nevada enacted same-day voter registration in 2019 with AB 345. 

Preregistration: Nevada allows preregistration for 17 year olds.
