What Are Matching Gifts?

A matching gift program is a type of corporate philanthropy in which companies financially match charitable donations their employees make to eligible nonprofit organizations. When an employee makes a donation, they can request a matching gift from their employer. The employer then makes their own donation to the organization, typically matching the employee’s gift at a 1:1 ratio.
