Katie Glenn

Senior State Legislative Advocacy Policy Strategist, Bernard and Anne Spitzer Fellow

Katie Glenn is the senior state legislative advocacy policy strategist and Bernard and Anne Spitzer Fellow at the Brennan Center, where she works with state legislators, advocates, and policymakers across the country to further the organization’s policy priorities. A seasoned state legislative advocate and lobbyist, Glenn has spent the last decade building coalitions and developing relationships with stakeholders across the political and ideological spectrum to advance justice in the South.

Prior to joining the Brennan Center, Glenn spent six years as a senior policy associate on the Alabama team at the Southern Poverty Law Center, where her focus included voting rights, children's rights, economic justice, criminal justice reform, LGBTQ+ rights, and immigrant justice. Before her time at SPLC, Glenn worked as the Alabama state director for Planned Parenthood Southeast and as an outreach coordinator at VOICES for Alabama’s Children.

Glenn earned her bachelor’s degree in history from Birmingham–Southern College, where she graduated summa cum laude. While there, she was awarded the Harry S. Truman Scholarship for public service as well as a postgraduate Truman-Albright Fellowship.
