Jia Zhang

Research Analyst

Jia Zhang is a research analyst specializing in data visualization who works with project teams across the Brennan Center’s programs and departments. Her research interests include visualization, mapping, and open data.

Prior to joining the center, Zhang was a Mellon Research Scholar at Columbia University’s Center for Spatial Research. Earlier in her career, she worked as a designer for the artists Xu Bing and Natalie Jeremijenko.

Zhang holds a BFA in industrial design from the Rhode Island School of Design, an MS in comparative media studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD from the MIT Media Lab.
