Isela Gutierrez

Special Assistant, Democracy

Isela Gutierrez is the special assistant to the Brennan Center’s Judiciary Program and Voting Rights and Elections Program. She provides administrative support and research assistance to both teams. Before joining the Brennan Center, she worked in the Nebraska State Legislature, supported several voting campaigns, and gained experience with various nonprofit organizations.

Gutierrez graduated cum laude from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a bachelor of science in business administration. She holds a master of public administration from Columbia University, with a concentration in urban and social policy and a specialization in technology, media, and communications. During her time at Columbia, she won first place in the SIPA Annual Global Policy Challenge, served as a course assistant, and sat on the board of the Latin American Student Association.
