The terms of three Texas Supreme Court justices will expire in 2022. In November 2022, they will compete in a partisan election to remain on the bench. Incumbent Justice Debra Lehrmann (R) will compete with Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals Judge Erin Nowell (D) and Tom Oxford (L) for Texas Supreme Court Place 3. Incumbent Justice Rebeca Huddle (R) will compete with Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals Judge Amanda Reichek (D) for Texas Supreme Court Place 5. Incumbent Justice Evan Young (R) will compete with Texas District Court Judge Julia Maldonado (D) for Texas Supreme Court Place 9.
