Brennan Center Leaders Named to Cuomo Transition Team

New York, NY Four leaders of the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law School were named to Attorney General-Elect Andrew Cuomos Transition Team.

Hon. Frederick A.O. Schwarz, Jr., who is Senior Counsel to the Brennan Center, was named Co-Chair of Attorney General-Elect Cuomos Committee on Public Integrity. Schwarz is Chairman, New York City Campaign Finance Board and Senior Counsel at Cravath, Swaine and Moore, LLP.

Jeremy Creelan, former Deputy Director of the Brennan Centers Democracy Project, was also asked to serve on the Public Integrity Committee. Mr. Creelan, Associate at Jenner & Block LLP, and Mr. Schwarz were co-counsel in a leading Brennan Center lawsuit, Lopez Torres v NYS Board of Elections, which successfully challenged the states corrupt judicial selection system.

Dean Richard L. Revesz, of the New York University Law School and a member of the Brennan Center Board of Directors was named Special Advisor to the Attorney General-Elects Transition Committee. The Committee will work to recruit top-flight talent to the Administration and will suggest reform initiatives to the Attorney General-Elect.

Zachary W. Carter, also a member of the Brennan Centers Board of Directors, was asked to Co-Chair the transition teams Committee on Antitrust/Investment Protection. Mr. Carter, a partner at Dorsey & Whitney LLP, was the United States Attorney, Eastern District of New York.

The new Attorney General-Elect has made reform a top priority, said Brennan Center Executive Director Michael Waldman. The Brennan Center is thrilled to be a part of a long over-due reform effort that we hope will help to restore peoples trust in government.
