Lauren Manning

Innovation Fellow, Brennan Center Ventures

Lauren Manning is the inaugural innovation fellow of Brennan Center Ventures, where she works on advancing creative, evidence-based solutions for strengthening democracy by increasing civic participation and government responsiveness.

She most recently consulted for the New York City Civic Engagement Commission, supporting strategies to enable New Yorkers with limited English proficiency to better participate in elections and civic life. That followed more than a decade working in the international development sector at the intersection of behaviorally informed public policy and good governance programming, including as the senior behavior change adviser for Mercy Corps’ peace and governance teams and a behavioral science consultant for the World Bank’s Mind, Behavior, and Development Unit.

Manning graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago.
