Rodas Beyene is the paralegal for the Voting Rights and Elections team. She joins the Brennan Center after founding Hidri, a non-profit organization established from the fruits of a small-scale initiative to deliver reusable menstrual health management products to displaced Eritrean girls and women in eastern Sudan. Previously, she worked at the US Attorney's Office in New York City.
Rodas graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Psychology & Political Science and a double minor in African Studies and Law & Public Policy. An emphasis on experiential learning led to unique cooperative education opportunities with CODEPINK, USAO-SDNY, and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. She received her master's in Global Affairs from New York University where she concentrated in Human Rights and International Law, focusing her thesis on political repression and enforced disappearances of citizens with oppositional views, journalists and members of parliament in Eritrea.
