Michya Cooper is a program associate in the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program, specializing in voting rights and representation, with a focus on redistricting.
Prior to joining the Brennan Center, Cooper was a program assistant for justice reform and elections at the Friends Committee on National Legislation. In this role, she gained experience lobbying on an array of issues such as community violence prevention, fairer drug sentencing, reentry services, and voting rights, as well as training constituents to lobby their members of Congress.
She holds a BA in criminal justice from Temple University.
