Hanna Johnson

Fellow

Hanna Johnson was a Parke Fellow in the Brennan Center’s Elections and Government Program. Her research focuses on misinformation on social media leading up to the midterm elections.

Hanna is currently pursuing an MPA-PNP, specializing in Public Policy Analysis, from NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Prior to Wagner, she spent three years at the ACLU as a communications strategist fighting to end mass incarceration and immigration detention. Hanna led communications around the organization’s push to free people from prisons, jails, and detention centers when COVID-19 hit. 

Prior to the ACLU, she spent four years at a strategic communications firm. Hanna graduated with a BS in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
