VRM in the States: Online Registration

Online Registration is a key component of Voter Registration Modernization that allows voters to register — and to check and update their registration records — through a secure and accessible online portal.
- At least 19 states — Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia — currently or will soon offer online voter registration.
- In addition, many other states allow citizens to look up their voter registration information online, but do not currently allow voters to register or to update their registration records online.
