Brennan Center Supports Voter Registration Modernization Act

U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) introduced the Voter Registration Modernization Act, which would provide national standards for secure and accessible online voter registration. The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law submitted a statement in support of the bill, explaining how modernizing the voter registration system in this way will help boost participation, enhance accuracy, and increase efficiency. The Senate should move quickly to pass this legislation, which provides a rare and critical opportunity to provide bipartisan national standards and improve the voting system.
