Bipartisan momentum has been building for years, and a new pro-active agenda by the Brennan Center offers solutions that would keep crime rates low, provide support for law enforcement, and reduce the federal prison population.
The move reverses an Obama-era order that aimed to reduce over-charging, and reinstates more aggressive practices of the past that put people behind bars unnecessarily, wasted government resources, and had little public safety benefit.
