Raúl Macías serves as counsel in the Democracy Program at the Brennan Center for Justice, where he focuses on voting rights and elections. Prior to joining the Brennan Center, Macías was a voting rights attorney at the ACLU of California. Prior to the ACLU, Macias worked at California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, Legal Services of Northern California, and the California Budget and Policy Center. Macías received a JD from the University of San Diego School of Law. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
