Tia Ellis serves as The Brennan Center’s Operations Coordinator. Her deep passion for social change influenced her to study Public and International Affairs at Baruch College. During her undergraduate studies, she interned at a few of New York City’s prominent nonprofits, including Her Justice, a nonprofit organization committed to providing pro-bono legal services to women who are victims of domestic violence, and Nomi Network, a nonprofit dedicated to creating economic opportunities for survivors and women at risk of human trafficking.
Prior to working at The Brennan Center, Tia worked as the Operations Coordinator at Children of Bellevue, a nonprofit auxiliary supporting the nation’s oldest public hospital – Bellevue Hospital. There she helped provide crucial funding for a wide-range of pediatric programs throughout the hospital by leading partnerships with the TCS New York City Marathon, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, and numerous other corporations.
Tia also lends her time and support to Together We Can Solve Hunger, a program dedicated to promoting food security to those in her family's native country of Belize.
