Janna Adelstein is a Research and Program Associate in the Democracy Program. Prior to joining the Brennan Center, She interned at the Vera Institute of Justice, the office of the Rt Hon David Lammy MP of the U.K. Parliament, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, and in the office of U.S. Congressman Jim Cooper.
Janna received her B.A. with honors from Vanderbilt University in 2019 where she majored in Political Science, Art History, and History. While at Vanderbilt, she served as a Dean’s Library Fellow, Research Assistant for the Research on Conflict and Collective Action (ROCCA) lab and for the Political Science and History departments, and Vice President of the Vanderbilt College Democrats. Her previous research has focused on the criminalization of immigrants in the U.S., voting rights, sexual assault, diplomacy, and how international organizations make reforms.
