Elisa Miller joined the Brennan Center as general counsel in 2015. She is responsible for corporate legal matters, tax and ethics compliance, and oversight of the organization’s pro bono law firms. She also advises various programs on corporate, nonprofit, tax, disclosure, and ethics law matters and is secretary to the Board of Directors.
Miller was previously general counsel at ALM Media, LLC, an international business news and information company that publishes legal and real estate journals such as the American Lawyer and New York Law Journal. As an associate at Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP, she represented a wide range of media companies in first amendment, intellectual property, and general commercial litigation; she also practiced commercial and securities litigation as an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell. Miller will serve on the board of the Brennan Center Strategic Fund, Inc. She is a graduate of Duke University and received her JD from New York University School of Law.
