Derek Tisler is a fellow with the Brennan Center for Justice’s Democracy Program, where he advocates for policies to protect the integrity of American elections against the threat of foreign interference.
Derek is a recent graduate of The University of Chicago Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Chicago Legal Forum, and participated in the Jenner & Block Supreme Court and Appellate Clinic. He previously worked as a summer intern with the Brennan Center, and also as a legal intern with the Voting Rights Project at the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Prior to law school, he worked in state legislative advocacy with a focus on urban policy issues. Derek holds a B.A. in Economics from Michigan State University.
