Alisa Batista

Special Assistant, Voting Rights & Elections and Government, Democracy

Alisa Batista serves as Special Assistant to the Director of the Elections and Government Program. Working closely within the Democracy Program, she provides research assistance, scheduling, and administrative support to the Money in Politics, Disinformation, and Election Security teams. Before joining the Brennan Center, she worked at the Office of the Bronx District Attorney as part of the Special Victims Division, later working in the Investigations Division as a member of the Immigrant Affairs Unit.

Batista received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Vermont, and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. During her time at John Jay, Batista’s research focused on racial disparities within the U.S. correctional system and advancing progressive reforms in the criminal justice sector.
