Brennan Center Liberty & National Security Program co-director Elizabeth Goitein will testify before the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary on oversight and reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Amendments Act.
On Tuesday, May 10, at 10:00 AM, Brennan Center Liberty & National Security Program co-director Elizabeth Goitein will testify before the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary on oversight and reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Amendments Act, which allows the NSA to collect communications between foreign targets and Americans without case-by-case judicial authorization or review. Goitein’s testimony will focus on the need to ensure surveillance measures are not only effective, but also comport with the Constitution, the privacy interests of law-abiding citizens in this country and overseas, and the economic interests of the United States.
