Nhu-Y Ngo

Research Associate, Democracy Program

Ms. Ngo joined the Brennan Center in September 2009 as a Research Associate in the Democracy Program. She focuses primarily on the Center's Voting Rights and Elections projects, assisting in litigation, research, and advocacy efforts to modernize the voter registration system, enhance political participation, and prevent voter disenfranchisement across the country.

Ms. Ngo graduated from Columbia University in May 2009, where she studied History and Political Science. A Truman Scholar, she spent two summers with the Nebraska Appleseed Center for Law in the Public Interest, working on immigrant integration and civic participation efforts. Previously, Ms. Ngo interned for the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, where she reviewed submissions under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act. She also has worked for the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund's Voting Rights Project, and for the Migration Policy Institute's U.S. Immigration Policy Team.
