
Yolanda Melville
Yolanda Melville is Counsel for the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program. Prior to joining the Center, she clerked for the Honorable Susan F. Maven in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
Ms. Melville graduated from Howard University School of Law in 2012, where she served as Managing Editor for the Human Rights and Globalization Law Review. During law school, she interned for the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. She also served as a Kellogg’s Law Fellow for the NAACP Office of the General Counsel. She has spoken about voting rights and redistricting issues throughout the country. Her work has been published in The Crisis magazine.
Ms. Melville graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2007 with a B.A. in English and Government and Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011 with a M.S. in Criminal Justice.
