
Oliver Roeder
Economist
Oliver Roeder is an economist in the Brennan Center’s Justice Program where he focuses on the costs of mass incarceration. With expertise in political and behavioral economics, he uses economic analysis to identify causal connections between criminal justice policies and outcomes, as well as documenting economic effects of mass incarceration. He recently completed his Ph.D. in economics at the University of Texas at Austin. Oliver’s research focuses on political and public. He also has published scholarship on improving the decisions of legal actors and won the economics department’s Best Paper Award. He holds an M.S. in economics from U.T. Austin and an A.B. in economics from the University of Chicago.
