Nathaniel Sobel is special assistant to the director in the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program where he works across all of the program’s issue areas. Previously, he worked on a campaign in support of the Iran nuclear agreement. Before that, he was a legislative correspondent for foreign policy, defense and immigration issues in the U.S. Senate. He also previously served as director of research at the S. Daniel Abraham Center for Middle East Peace and was an editor on Foreign Policy’s daily national security first-read, the “Situation Report.” He graduated from Yale University in 2012 as an American Studies and International Studies double major.
