As Vice President for Communications & Strategy, Jeanine Plant-Chirlin oversees a communications team responsible for the organization’s media strategy and press relations, publications, public events, the website and social media outreach. In this role, she has successfully launched some of the Center’s most influential publications; and helped lead strategies to promote the organization’s major initiatives, including media campaigns on Citizens United and Arizona Free Enterprise v. Bennett.
She is currently leading the website redesign efforts, and exploring other ways to expand the Center’s reach. Recently, she spearheaded the Center’s communications e-newsletter and forged a partnership with The Century Foundation to publish Money, Politics and the Constitution: Beyond Citizens United. She also compiles and edits the Center’s annual anthology, Collected Writings: Democracy and Justice. In early 2011, she coordinated a luncheon series for New York’s progressive public policy community to explore the role of government. She has also initiated events and partnerships with journalists and elected officials.
Previously, she served as deputy director and press secretary at the Center and conducted communications campaigns for other nonprofits and advocacy organizations. She holds a BA from Northeastern, where she graduated magna cum laude with honors program distinction, and an MA from Columbia University.
