James Cullen

Research and Program Associate

James Cullen is a Research and Program Associate in the Brennan Center’s Justice Program. As part of the program's law and economics research team, he performs economic, statistical, policy, and legal research and analysis on issues related to mass incarceration. Cullen joined the Justice Program in June 2015 after completing his B.A. in economics and political science at the University of Chicago. There, he researched redistribution policy, examining what factors drove public opinion and the responsiveness of the federal government to different income groups, and studied labor economics.

Previously, Cullen interned in the Office of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and for Westchester County Criminal Court Judge Barbara Zambelli.
