Brynne O'Neal joined the Brennan Center in October 2014 as a Research and Program Associate in the Liberty and National Security Program. She focuses on surveillance oversight bodies, privacy doctrines, and secret laws. Prior to joining the Center, she completed a New Sector Alliance Residency in Social Enterprise where she researched the breadth and quality of youth mentoring services available in Illinois. She also worked as a Resource Development Associate for Spark Ventures, a nonprofit with international partnerships that provide children in poverty with nutrition, education and healthcare.
Brynne graduated from the University of Chicago in 2011 with a B.A. in Political Science. She received departmental honors for her thesis on the effects of the UN Convention to Eliminate Discrimination Against Women on women's empowerment in Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
