This year's event was a special celebration of the Center's 10th anniversary, the 100th anniversary of Justice Brennan's birth, and the 50th anniversary of his appointment to the Supreme Court.

John Lewis
Legacy Award Recipient
U.S. Representative, Fifth Congressional District, Georgia
John Lewis was born in Alabama and began his distinguished career as civil rights activist at an early age. An architect of the historic March on Washington in 1963, Mr. Lewis was chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. He was elected to Congress in November 1986 and has since served as U.S. Representative of Georgia's Fifth Congressional District.

Executive Vice President & General Counsel, NBC Universal
A former law clerk for Justice Brennan, Richard Cotton now supervises the NBC Universal law department.
