Democracy For Sale: A Case for Fair Elections in New York State
March 7, 2013
Ever since the US Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision to permit unrestricted donations to campaigns by corporations and unions, the public has become increasingly aware and outraged by the power of big money to influence the outcome of elections and thus the running of our government. This program focuses on the problems specific to New York State and offers several recommendations for changing the current system as well as an opportunity for the speakers to exchange ideas between themselves and the audience.
