State-Based Voting Advocacy
In addition to its litigation and public education work, the Voting Rights and Elections team has undertaken a range of advocacy projects in response to specific concerns arising in individual states. The team monitors the status of state legislation or policy that threatens to restrict voters' rights, and it regularly helps coordinate grass-roots advocacy efforts among state-wide partners and allies. On other occasions, the team responds directly to county-wide voter purges and misguided voter matching programs aimed at trimming voter rolls at the expense of legitimately registered voters.
