R. Kyle Alagood
Liberty & National Security Program, Research Associate
R. Kyle Alagood is the Research Associate for the Liberty and National Security Program. His research and advocacy focus primarily on law enforcement accountability, domestic radicalization, oversight of U.S. intelligence agencies, and government transparency. Since joining the Brennan Center, Kyle has organized two high-level events: lecture by Janet A. Napolitano, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; and a convening of experts on law enforcement and intelligence gathering, headlined by John O. Brennan, Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, and U.S. Rep. Bennie G. Thompson. In addition to his work with the LNS Program, Kyle researches, writes for, and helps edit Frederick A.O. “Fritz” Schwarz, Jr.’s forthcoming book on excessive secrecy and democracy.
Before joining the Brennan Center, Kyle was at University College London, from where he received his Master of Science in Democracy and Democratisation. He is a native Louisianan and graduated from the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University.
