E-Lerts
To alert activists, scholars, and journalists to important developments concerning judges and the judiciary, each day the Brennan Center reviews a wide array of newspapers and periodicals for articles and commentary related to judicial independence issues (broadly defined), and once a week we post a short summary of these pieces, with corresponding citations.

News and opinion pieces that praise, attack, or simply discuss free and low-cost civil legal aid. Also presented are reports about civil legal aid that are not covered in the media. Low-income individuals and families, children, consumers, the elderly, the disabled, immigrants, workers, prisoners, veterans, and people reliant on government benefits or seeking health care share concerns about access to justice that are frequently covered in the E-lert.
