Article reports that Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler "quietly closed her campaign account last year," now preventing her from "recovering nearly $823,000 she personally lent her campaign." Ziegler, who said she has no interest in continuing to raise funds to repay the loan, was reprimanded last month by her colleagues for handling a number of cases as a county circuit judge where a conflict of interest was present. In light of these events, Jay Heck, executive director of Common Cause in Wisconsin, agreed with Ziegler's decision not to continue raising funds, saying that it would not look good if Ziegler had not forgiven the loan because "she'd be raising money to pay herself back."
