Article reports that the Connecticut Judicial Review Council charged former Chief Justice William Sullivan with undermining the integrity and independence of the judiciary. They scheduled a public hearing for September, after which they could suspend the chief justice for up to a year. Chief Justice Sullivan admitted to postponing the release of a controversial decision to aid a colleague who hoped to succeed him as chief justice. After a closed-door session, the council found that Chief Justice Sullivan had _let personal relationships influence his conduct and brought his office into disrepute by his extraordinary conduct._ The Judicial Review Council has only held eight public hearings in 17 years, and Chief Justice Sullivan will be only the second Connecticut Supreme Court justice to be brought up on disciplinary charges.
