At the New York Times, Neil Lewis revisits past Supreme Court confirmation hearings to make sense of the "fervor with which...criticisms have been hurled" at Judge Sonia Sotomayor.  According to Richard A. Epstein, who is quoted in the article, "anger over the treatment of past conservative nominations" - namely, those of Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas - remains "powerful" and overshadows the otherwise "thin case against...Sotomayor."
