Emily Savner Departs Brennan Center for Law School
Legal Services E-lert
Bibliographic Info:
Emily Savner, the Brennan Center’s Justice Program Research Associate for the past two years, is heading to Harvard Law School this fall; we want to recognize her contributions to civil justice reform. Beyond producing the Legal Services E-lert each week and talking with many of our readers about particular stories, Emily has played a critical role in helping to guide the national campaign to remove LSC restrictions. During her tenure, Emily also co-authored two reports: Community Oriented Defense: Stronger Public Defenders and A Call to End Federal Restrictions on Legal Aid for the Poor. She provided key research assistance for Foreclosures: A Crisis in Legal Representation, The Hidden Costs of Florida’s Criminal Justice Fees, Language Access in State Courts and other reports and briefs. Emily’s demonstrated commitment to justice for vulnerable populations is testament to all that she has yet to accomplish as she begins her legal career. We wish her the best of luck! While we are sad to say goodbye to Emily, please join us in welcoming Neeta Pal who will assume many of Emily’s former responsibilities and who will be in touch with many of you in the months ahead.
